OVERVIEW
Centered on the recurring image of the Divine Woman in Chinese mythology, the project reflects on how her figure, started from stories of women drowned in water, gradually dissolves into myth, leaving the original voices unheard.
The lettering, shaped by the voice reading the poems, and the water-inspired imagery echo the Divine Woman’s shifting presence. By contrasting literal and free translations, the project seeks to visualize the hidden voices behind the poems.

PARAMETERIZATION STEPS
Draw skeleton of lettering and convert it into path. Divide the path with equal distance. Figure above shows points distribution on the letter “sorrow”.
The radius of the circles are dervied from the voice volumn or the water level change while I read the poems of the divine women.
Apply visual effects based on three representative imagery of the Divine Woman in Touch Designer.
